People said,"When you are dead, you will see a white light in front of you, awaiting for you to go back to our Father's kingdom." Fortnight ago, I saw thousand of white light flashes through my face even tough I tried hard to get back to my sleep. I was on the Mara Liner heading to my hometown from Gambang, Pahang. The many white lights were from the speeding vehicles from the other side of road, heading opposite direction. It was about 8pm, I remembered, but the sky was so dark that I could see the 4 letters, "IPOH" glittering by itself on the top of the hill. "I will be home soon," I talked to myself. I thought of entertaining this boring yet tiring journey with my MP3, but both my earphones couldn't resist the loud sound of the engine running behind. I was relieved, that it was over.
3:30pm
I watched a few guys from my college walked away with their luggage as my bus continued its journey after dropping them. Wow, Kuala Lumpur at 3:30 was as beautiful as at night. My eyes never turned away from the buildings, the sky scratching KLCC, the hustle and bustle, the streets and a few people in weird dresses and make up.
4:30pm
I felt as if the bus was taking us for tour around the capital. The driver promised to get us to Puduraya Station right on time, but he ended up dropping us in the middle of the road, for the traffic jam screwed our plan. My friend was a bit nervous as the next bus was going to take off at 5. I followed her with another friend, pulling my heavy Polo wheeled luggage as I noticed...it was raining dizzily.
4:45pm
Raindrops never stopped smashing me while others were having their umbrella as protection, all I knew was I should keep walking and walking through the small and narrow side road as my friends were far beyond me. This was the first time I was here. The rain didn't stop but turning to more and more heavy. And worst of all, I was one of the fortunate people on Earth who wear spectacles. How hate I felt to have the rain to block my view.
5.05pm
Here I am. In fact, the bus is coming at 5:30pm, Platform 6. I was asked to look out for two other luggage when they went to the bathroom. I acted as if this is an old place to me in the middle of the human wave, one of my friend's warning indeed scared me off, "This is the most complicated bus terminal in our country, every species of people are here."
5:30pm
I rushed down Platform 6 with a bottle of 100 plus, I was exhausted and thirsty. Since I had got 5 ringgits on hand, I tried to forget about the doughnuts and hot dogs. And I didn't understand why they sell jeruk in every bus station terminus I had ever been and even the jetty. I hadn't seen any Mara Liner coming.
6:15pm
The Mara Liner on route to Kulim, Serdang and Parit Buntar was finally here. We got on the bus to enjoy the air-con which would automatically wiped off our sweats. Imagine about us waiting at underground Platform 6, overwhelming by the heat from other buses.
7:00pm It was leaving K.L and I felt one step closer to my hometown. I bought some potato chips as my dinner.
9:30pm
Overslept. I was waken by people voices calling their families. I was here in Parit Buntar already, I rushed to my cellphone and dial to Mom......
