On this lazy Sunday afternoon, with heavy eyes I followed my dad to his service centre.
We had a function to donate rice and other items to the members of the Society of Single Mothers' and Public Charity (Persatuan Ibu-ibu Tunggal Seberang Perai Selatan) , which were all single mothers with more than one kids.
Their names.
It was quite an experience. Their faces were etched with harsh lines, veins sticking out in their arms, all products of a hard and merciless life. Some of them carried a certain smell as they had been walking from their homes. It may sound ridiculous to our pampered ears, but none of them came in cars, only a few on motorbikes, and the rest on food. For those who are familiar with Nibong Tebal, they walked from Maybank to us...
Each with their own stories.
I have said it many times, but we really should be grateful with what we have and will have, instead of complaining about those that we don't.
