Take Me Home Country Road

I choose this title which is after John Denver's famous song. However, the reason is different with what the song meant, or so I guess.

Like what I said in my previous post, this Chinese New Year is ending on a quiet tune. Everything will set itself in again, studies, work, and etc. People will be leaving this little hamlet to places where they should be. This has had been how things were, and the Tiger year is no exception. Only the way of perceiving has changed, and the heart that withstands toughened.

Life is never just wine and song. It is pleasant to work and then eat the fruits of our labour, and thus it is pleasant to go back to where we came from and then back again.

I had fun during this week, and I am quite certain that my friends enjoyed themselves too. We sang songs and ate and drank as much as our young bodies can take, we joked and laughed. I am pleased to get to know several new faces too! Life doesn't get better than this, simple yet resplendent.

Now it is time to pick ourselves from the blissful hiatus and head back into life. God bless everyone, and may we sing this song again when we meet next time.

Almost heaven, West Virginia,
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River.
Life is old there, older than the trees,
younger than the mountains
growin' like a breeze.

Country roads, Take me home to the place I belong.
West Virginia, Mountain momma, Country roads take me home

All my mem'ries, gather round her,
miner's lady, stranger to blue water.
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky,
misty taste of moonshine
teardrop in my eye.

Country roads, Take me home to the place I belong.
West Virginia, Mountain momma, Country roads take me home

I hear her voice in the morning hour she calls me,
the radio reminds me of my home far away
and driving down the road I get a feeling
that I should have been home yesterday, yesterday.

Country roads, Take me home to the place I belong.
West Virginia, Mountain momma, Country roads take me home
